Leica M3 – The Greatest Camera of All Time?

Last Updated 30th May 2014

Just a quick post about a very special camera.

Some say that the Leica M3 is the holy grail of the photographic world – perhaps even the best 35mm camera to have ever been made. At Hypop we’ve been able to get our hands on the most coveted camera of our time.

The Leica M3 was released in 1954 and was the very first M mount camera introduced by Leica. With over 200,000 units sold in its run between 1954 and 1966, you can safely say that it was Leica’s most successful of the M series.

You’ll find that the M3 features 50mm, 90mm & 135mm frame lines. Its high range view finder made it incredibly popular with photo journalists at the time.  The moment you pick up an M3, you will notice the incredible design, from its premium materials to its overall feel; you know you’ve got a solid unit – something special.
